Magazines.  A member of my family, who shall remain nameless, has a bit of an addition to food magazines.   Today I am helping her sift through all of these magazines.  We will rip out any recipes that she wants and put them in the binder that I have created for her.   This is a happy day for me.  :)

Unused Computers and Computer Parts.  Being in I.T. I tend to collect “spare parts”.  I tend to hold on to them until they are so obsolete, that their only good use is being a coaster!

I just know I am going to need something as soon as I get rid of it.  But the whole point here is to rid yourself of you extra “stuff”.  So here we go…

I am going to take all of my fairly current and working things to Reboot Services at Touch The Future.  They will take your old computer and fix it up.  They will then make it available to a person with disabilities.  They also provide training to the person on how to use it.  I have donated to them before, and they are great.

I think one of the greatest benefits of technology is to allow people with disabilities and shut-ins the ability to communicate with the outside world.  Whether they can physically get to the outside world or not.

Not sure if this counts or not, but I am going to say it does.  Today I am getting rid of the pile of wood that has been sitting in our back yard since I deconstructed our lower deck (termite inspector said it had to go).  This has got to be 40 bags of wood just on it’s own!  I know, I know, I can only count it once.

It has been sitting there so long that it is now buried in leaves and vines.   Lord knows what lives in it (maybe I’ll post what I find).  It has rusted nails all in it, and our dog just loves to walk on it (Argh!).

Books.  Today I am cleaning out my Bookshelf and donating books that I have read, and some that I have realized that I will never read.

I kept many of these, thinking that I really should read this someday.  But many “somedays” have come and gone,  so I really should give it to someone who will read it and enjoy it.

Today is Old Tennis Shoe (or Sneakers, as my wife calls them) Day.

We literally have 15 pairs between the both of us.  What were we keeping these for?!?!?

Repeat day!  I have so many Yard Clothes that I have to fill another bag today. I know it’s boring, but I have to get rid of this stuff.

I’d post a picture of how much I have, but it’s a bit embarrassing.   Anyone need any yard clothes?  :)

Today I am filling up a bag of  “lawn clothes”.

Every time I would ruin a shirt or pants, I would put it in a pile in the closet that I dubbed the “lawn clothes”.  These are closes that I can wear while working in the yard.  Great idea, right?  The problem is that the pile is now so large, I cannot possibly wear all these clothes.

Since these clothes are damaged, I don’t think I can take them to GoodWill.  Any suggestions on where to take these?  Homeless shelter perhaps?

Today I am getting rid of old VHS Tapes.  Some are movies (which I will donate), but some are “blank” tapes or tapped old tv shows.  Anyone know what to do with these?  I hate to just throw them out.  Any place to recycle them?
