  1. Boot with Knoppix live disk or usb
  2. Open a terminal window in Knoppix
  3. Type “sudo sfdisk -l” to see what your disk (that you want to wipe) is mounted as (example – sda1)
  4. Type “sudo shred -vfz -n 100 /dev/sda1” – IMPORTANT – Substitute the disk name learned from above command. ┬áNote that the 100 is the number of passes (and can be changed)
