Sheets and Comforters. Sticking with the Winter turning into Spring theme, we are going through our linen closet and removing Comforters and Sheets that we no longer use or need.

Shipping Boxes. No, I am not kidding. We have saved so many boxes for the possibility that we might need to ship something, that exact size, in it. I think we have one of every size imaginable. This is going to clear so much space in the attic! Best of all, all the material is recyclable. The county recycling pickup guys are going to be thrilled.

Coats. As the weather gets warmer (finally), I have decided that we really don’t need all these coats. We went through one of the coldest winters I can remember this year, so if a coat was not warn, then we really don’t need it.
I regret not doing this sooner, as I am sure that there were people out there that could have made very good use of these coats during this very cold winter. But I am sure they will go to good use anyway, eventually.
We are donating 18 coats! Wow. I can’t believe we had so many. And these were “Extras”. Wow.

Magazines. A member of my family, who shall remain nameless, has a bit of an addition to food magazines. Today I am helping her sift through all of these magazines. We will rip out any recipes that she wants and put them in the binder that I have created for her. This is a happy day for me.

Unused Computers and Computer Parts. Being in I.T. I tend to collect “spare parts”. I tend to hold on to them until they are so obsolete, that their only good use is being a coaster!
I just know I am going to need something as soon as I get rid of it. But the whole point here is to rid yourself of you extra “stuff”. So here we go…
I am going to take all of my fairly current and working things to Reboot Services at Touch The Future. They will take your old computer and fix it up. They will then make it available to a person with disabilities. They also provide training to the person on how to use it. I have donated to them before, and they are great.
I think one of the greatest benefits of technology is to allow people with disabilities and shut-ins the ability to communicate with the outside world. Whether they can physically get to the outside world or not.

Not sure if this counts or not, but I am going to say it does. Today I am getting rid of the pile of wood that has been sitting in our back yard since I deconstructed our lower deck (termite inspector said it had to go). This has got to be 40 bags of wood just on it’s own! I know, I know, I can only count it once.
It has been sitting there so long that it is now buried in leaves and vines. Lord knows what lives in it (maybe I’ll post what I find). It has rusted nails all in it, and our dog just loves to walk on it (Argh!).

Books. Today I am cleaning out my Bookshelf and donating books that I have read, and some that I have realized that I will never read.
I kept many of these, thinking that I really should read this someday. But many “somedays” have come and gone, so I really should give it to someone who will read it and enjoy it.

Repeat day! I have so many Yard Clothes that I have to fill another bag today. I know it’s boring, but I have to get rid of this stuff.
